Connecting Small Presses and Independent Authors to Institutional Libraries
The DTL Commons, like other projects owned and operated by the Digital Theological Library, aims to provide authors with a way to host eBooks at no cost while enabling libraries to easily license these eBooks and incorporate them into the local library catalog. We promote access to books in religious studies published by small presses and independent authors by hosting them as eBooks and licensing them to institutional libraries.

The Digital Theological Library (the owner of the DTL Commons and a 501(c)(3) registered nonprofit in California) was founded in 2016 with the goal of making content in theological and religious studies more accessible to individuals and institutions around the world. Since 2016, the DTL has expanded to include five libraries, a press, and now the DTL Commons.
